NMT 28

She must be pretty good to come over and sit with your grumpy, 101 degree fever ass.

Our pick this week is from our old Home town (and some of you's new home town). They played as part of the R.E.M. show at Stubb's BBQ for SXSW.

I'll show you two from them. The first one is a little older and the second I think is from their most recent album. They have a Myspace page, so if you have the means, go check them out.

from Orlando, FL:

Summerbirds in the Cellar - "Strange Answers":

Summerbirds in the Cellar - "Trains":

Oh and before we head out, it's Jay and Amanda's 8th Anniversary today. Wow. 8 years. This is their wedding song....sort of. Happy Anniversary guys. Enjoy:

We need not worry, tornado's (pronounced "tornada's) hit Atlanta, but KG assures us she is ok and she apparently "heart's me" for asking. Glad you're ok.

Hard to get a cute couple picture from the wedding to post when your girlfriend keeps deleting them all because she's a girl and thinks she looks bad in all of them. Why do you girls do that?

Our pick this week is a band Jay, Amanda, Vicki, Tara (making a rare outdoor appearance) and I saw Sunday night at the American Legion hall her in Tally. They're a great Celtic-Fusion band from Toronto (Celtic rock from Toronto, the way it was meant to be). it was a great time and I highly suggest you go see them if they come near you:

The Stone Church
New Market, New Hampsha

Totally fun, and well worth the money and I hear two singer guys are cute. (They don't wear the kilts anymore and the fiddle player has normal color hair now). Vicki was partial to the fiddle player, while Amanda leans more towards the guitar player. Whatever.

From Toronto, Ontario, Canada:

Enter the Haggis - "One More Drink":

Bonus Tracks:

One more. Amanda says to get up and dance as this is her favorite (no video, just a picture and the music, but this is what I could find):

Enter the Haggis - Lanigan's Ball:

No random pick this week, but this was LRHG's favorite at SXSW (I think it's mostly because she's secretly attracted to Red Head girls, but isn't ready to deal with it yet):

Kate Nash - Foundations:

I just got yelled at for not asking enough questions at the doctors office and I haven't even called my mom yet.

Our pick this week is sort of a random pick. I was poking around and found her listed and her picture sort of caught my eye (not-blonde singer, so you know). I kind of like it.

I can't tell if she's trying to say she's not going to blame her new lover for old hurts she got before him or old hurts he gave her. What do you think?

Either way, it's a good song and it's always a good idea to love like you've never been hurt.

From Lafayette, Indiana:

Sara Melson - "Never been hurt":

Bonus Tracks:

Allison's latest obsession:

It can drink now.

Today, March 9, 2008, U2's The Joshua Tree turns 21 which means it can now legally drink and you are officially old.

Enjoy the rest of your nap.

Almost forgot

Forgot to put this in the NMT listing Tuesday:

Funniest thing: A few years ago when Prince was doing press for whatever album he had out, a reporter asked him if he remembered in 1983 when he and Michael Jackson were to the two biggest pop stars in the world and everyone thought he (Prince) was the weird one.

It's true. I remember that Robert Townsend sketch that was a cop show with Mj and Prince as detectives and the Chief yelling at them in cop movie style and telling Prince to stop wearing his sisters clothes cause he was tired of seeing the crack of his ass whenever he walked out of his office.

NMT 25

So, a Save the Date is not the same as an invitation? Girls make things so confusing.

I have been thinking about this album since they started talking about it's 25th anniversary (that's right- 25 years). It was one of the first albums I ever bought, Purple Rain being the first, this was probably #3 (oddly, a Weird Al album is #2). I had it on cassette and album. I had to get the album, of course, because it had the lyric sheet in it.

Anyways, I have it on my computer and iPod now and I've been listening to it the last couple of days and it's funny how it comes back to you. Songs and parts you had forgotten all about come back to you 2 beats before it plays. It's almost like you're 8 years old again and makes you want to go back and tell Tracy Hart to kiss your ass cause she had a chance to be the girl that got you before you peaked...in the sixth grade.

So, let's all relive what has stood the test of time as an amazing album, and don't any of you EVEN act like you weren't down with it! It sold like 17 billion copies, so I ain't the only one who bought one. So, get up and dance like no one is looking and your mom never threw away your jelly shoes

From friggin Outer Space:

Michael Jackson - "Billie Jean"

Bonus Tracks:

These guys have been getting some attention and I'm not sure I'm all that into it, but maybe you guy will like it.

Flyleaf - "All over me":

Random pick of the Week (for all the married people. This includes you LRHG):
