More whiny bitches
They accounced that here in Leon county, the school's start times will change next year. Right now, there are something like 17 different start times. Next year, they will have one start time for Elementary, on for Middle, Etc. This makes Top 40 happy, because she gets an extra hour to get ready (read:Sleep). this change is someo sort of cost cutting method since they won't have to have every bus in the area running at one time.
Of course, some parents are bitching because it adversly affects them and they'll have to change something.
This part caught my attention though:
"Everything is so logistical now," said Angela , a mother of a third-grader at Kate Sullivan, a seventh-grader at Fairview Middle School and a 10th-grader at Rickards High School. "It's like you don't have a quality of life anymore."
How?! Those schools aren't anywhere near each other. Well, Rickards and Fairview are, but Kate Sullivan is by my house and is an "A" school and consistently rated as one of the best school in the district (Chaires is only a "B". You don't get a bonus for that. There are no points for second place).
If you don't want to have to deal with school schedules and after-school and activities and all that; don't have kids. It's part of the package and the sacrifice you make. You should have read the brochure all the way through.
Now, shut the fuck up before you kid hears you and thinks he/she is a terrible burden on their parents.
Isn't also ironic (don't you think), that the day they announce a huge change that was made because of a lack of budget that is pissing people off; is also the same day the Tea-baggers (Seriously? Not one of you has the Google on your Internet machine?) are gathering in (relatively) small groups to protest taxes?
Sometimes, I have no hope.

*blink* your school districts don't already do this? and i'm saying this coming from a school district that consists of three schools. all lined up on one road. elementary in front. middle in the middle (ha) and high school in the rear (double ha). but high school in my town starts the same time as high school in concord. sort of has to on account of snow days and shit. a two hour delay on account of snow in the concord school district has to mean something. can't imagine managing the logistics of it any other way. not that i have to. 7 inches of snow laying across my driveway pretty much means my happy ass ain't going nowhere whether school gets delayed and/or cancelled or not. because i'm two-flake hannah. i'm digressing.
i gots the google. i just figured tea bay day was a phrase you folks in tally were trying to get to sweep the nation. like babyfishmouth.
Man, who knew Tally was so behind the times? I thought every school district in America had this school timing thing (elementary at time "A", middle at time "B" and high school at time "C"). Who knew??
These parents need to get a life...if every other parent in school districts that have these set times already in place can manage, then I have a few words for the Tallahassee parents...suck it up! You wanted kids, so deal!
Babyfishmouth? It's sweeping the nation. No seriously, who says that. (Nice one Hannah, now I have to go watch that again.) And YES the idiots here in Florida really DON'T know how to run education. It is such a joke here. Got any room up there in NH for a middle school English teacher? I want to come home.
Teabagger is in fact the name the moronic republican party gave to it's self. Just one more reason to be proud I voted for Obama. DANG! Too funny!
amanda: i can work a 'when harry met sally' reference into any conversation.... and yes, s.a.u.s are hiring for 09-10 school year right now... come home.... come hoooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
