NMT 79

Not really sure how a 30th birthday party that her BFF and the girl for whom she's maid of honor is coming up from Boca for requires me to get a haircut, but alas, tis what happened.

Our pick this week is a weird one. Well, weird in that it has been in my head for the last few weeks. It's a good song and I do like it, even if I don't have it. The weird part is, I've only heard it like 3 times and not for awhile. I saw the video once and thought oh this is that band I keep hearing about and I liked it. I heard it a couple more times and that's been it. They have a new record that came out last week and when I saw it listed somewhere it reminded me of this song and it started popping into my head. Yes, this happens alot. I always have some song running through my head at all times.

You know when you see that look on my face and you wonder what I'm thinking or if I'm listening to you? Chances are that's what's going on. Some song or whatever will enter my head and I'll stop paying attention to whatever else and focus on that. It's nothing personal and when someone is speaking to me, I am listening, it's usually when I'm sitting down to a task or there's quiet. Maybe it's ADD, but when this happens, whatever is in my head is usually infinitely more interesting than what I should be doing. (Then again, watching a monkey fuck a football would be infinitely more interesting than most of what I do all day).

So, for whatever reason, this song-well the chorus mainly- kept coming up, so I figured we'd pick it since it's good and it might go away and make room for something new. You know, like calling an ex over and over again until you get it out of your system. (LRHG is shaking her head, so I guess that means that doesn't work as well.)

Well, I guess the sun's come back and for most of us (read: those of us NOT in the Great White North) it's warmed up and we'll get to enjoy nice weather for a few weeks before we start to melt again. Let's have a little something that just makes you feel warm.

You know, I'm all about artists taking a chance and trying something totally out of their vein (Monster, Acthung, Baby, The new U2-good isn't it, LRHG?). Sometimes those chances make beautiful records and sometimes they make this:
