NMT 57

You remember when a new Kenny Chesney album would make us go to Wal-Mart at midnight to buy it?

Our pick this week is brand spanking new. It came out today and I like it. In fact I may go buy it when we are done here (2.99 at Amazon.com. Hurry.) Previous stuff from this band have been more lush, if you will. They did that "Somewhere only we know" song. This one seems to be more funky. More of a groove.

Anyway, it's really good, the video is cool (it's strange and LRHG loves her some strange videos) and it's only 2.99 (probably still on Wednesday too, so hurry).

So, let's pick it up and put it down and dance to the funky sounds...

From Battle, East Sussex, England:

Keane - "Spiralling":

Bonus Tracks:

A comment on the above video said it was the weirdest video they had seen since Weezer's "Pork and Beans". Well, let's see if they're right. This is a fun song too.

Weezer - "Pork and Beans":

I Miss the 90's:

I don't know why and I'm a little ashamed to admit it, but I woke up this morning and this song was running through my head. No reason for it because I haven't heard it in forever. Just popped in there. That's what it's like inside my head.

Hey,
I have actually done that mentos in soda experiment with my class. That's right, I teach science. (Actually, it was just for fun-but still.)

GREAT tunes this week. Weezer is just weird so you kinda expect that in their videos but they are a great band and great live.

OMG...I LOVE that Edwyn Collins song, I actually had it in my head one day at the gym and I had NO idea how or where it came from and couldn't figure out who sang it. THANK YOU!!! PS - I had no idea where it came from or why it was in my head either. Random, it happens.

Great minds think alike - just a great tune

a. what's funny is i'm online at 6:23 this morning to purchase a song so that i can burn a cd so that my almost-three year old can stop bugging me to force the radio to play craig morgan's 'international harvester' and i see that keane has a new one and it is in fact $2.99. i didn't buy it, but that doesn't mean i'm going to.

b. what's also funny is that xm radio lurves weezer and i've never really given them much thought since the happy days video but since getting my free trial of xm i've learned that i really do like them. so much that i might have to buy something of theirs.

c. a song i definitely totally forgot existed. and will promptly forget again, i'm sure.

mentos in soda experiment? tell me more, i'm intrigued. (my boy got his progress report and got a 'satisfactory' in all subjects except science. in that he got an 'outstanding'! yay, team!)

Well, try dropping a mento,2 or 3 if you're brave, into a 2 liter bottle of coke. See what happens? Good times. (stand back)That is what they are doing in the background of the beginning of the weezer clip.
-yay science!

Thanks for the new Keane. I have to admit to liking it, in a guilty pleasure sort of way. :)
