NMT 53

Hey, kids, it's the one year anniversary of New Music Tuesday! Friggin' Sweet. Without fail, every Tuesday (eventually and except for the very first one, but that makes this the 52nd Tuesday in a row) for the last year, we've shared. Through vacations, surgeries, spark free break ups in movie parking lots, totally un-surprising Dear John Letters, LRHG's constant pestering, all of that, we've managed to do this every week. See: I can commit. Thank you for coming along and participating.

Our pick this anniversary week is a bit, eclectic I guess is the right word. I don't know, I've heard stranger. I think they get this label from the fact that they have a cello and a violin in their line up as opposed to the standard bass, drums guitar. Or it could the fact that they're weird artist types. Labels.

I like this, it's a little different, but not too much and you can dance to it. Not that I dance, but you may. They've also played SXSW the last two years, so I'm sure LRHG knows all about them, since she's hip and with it.

So, from Syracuse, NY:

Ra Ra Riot - "Dying is Fine":

Bonus Tracks:

I wanted to share with you a couple of the videos that sort of started this NMT idea. I found them and watched them a few times and wanted to share them and then when I realized that you could do that on this blogger thingy is when I decided to start it.I always meant to insert them in over the weeks, but I'm lazy and I forget and I tend to focus on the right now.

I already did one of hers last week, but in the interest of celebration I'll share these as well. So here they are with the original jokes I was going to use.

Oh man, PJ Harvey totally stole this outfit from Mormon Girl's closet. Yes. Don't question it.

PJ Harvey - "Whores hustle and the hustlers whore":

I think LRHG was at this show and was WICKED pissed when she saw PJ wearing the Exact. Same. Outfit. (seriously, this is one of her greatest songs and this version is solid)

I Miss the 90's:

Though I don't miss this. Some of you are big fans. Me: not so much. But, it's a year, so have fun.

Unrelated note: ( not that you can do anything) I seriously need help with Bowden. I mean ...balling because I don't know what to do with him, but I can not get rid of him. (And I don't want to "just deal with it" ) :(

Umm. To who I am assuming is Vicki - I think I know to what you are referring, and that is just not a cool place to be. Richard - be nice to her.

On to the music.

While I do not have the entire outfit...I did have a very similar pair of boots. Broke the heel off traipsing around DC making stupid copies of stupid paperwork for a stupid association that I no longer work for. Man I miss them!

Good choices this time around! One year down. :)

Good tunes, I liked that first one. I don't dance either...unless much alcohol is consumed (I sure hope my Uncle's 50th bday party pictures NEVER surface...OY).

Mormon Girl, LRHG - good taste in apparel if PJ is stealing/copying you. LOL

Hey - Leave my Collective Soul boys alone. What did they ever do to you?? Come on, great tune.

Happy NMT anniversary, Richard!!! You've done a great job! I know I'm a slacker friend and all now that I'm in the mountain time zone, but I still read your blog now and then. :) Hope you and all of the girlies on here are doing well.

Oh, and I've seen Mormon girl in that outfit. Hot!!! :)

Actually R is not completely lacking rhythm. Although, is it really that hard for a guy to dance. A slight bounce and a bob, come on :)
