Getting the word out
Ok, girls, she needs your help. Next Saturday, her school is having their fall festival. Each class has a basket entered in the silent auction and each basket has a theme. Her theme is "coffee and tea time". She's looking for cheap ideas to put in it (coffee, tea things that go with coffee and tea). Since most of yous drink that stuff and being girls, you should be able to come up with all kinds of fun stuff and ideas.
She also looking for a "cute idea" for the basket. Doesn't have to be a basket, just something to hold all of this crap.
Do me proud girls. This is a bigger softball than a Hannity-Palin question.

go to target or the like and get one of those party tub thingies that you can carry shit in. then get a few packages of compostable cups, wood stirrers, packets of natural raw sugar, coffee, tea bags and etc. line the tub with a few of the cup packages (leave a sleeve out so she can display them, then tuck everything else in. a nice color coordinated kitchen towel or two would look great all rolled up and tucked in. a package or two of biscotti go great with both cofee and tea too. get a nice stainless steel coffee/tea commuter mug, those are flashy too (and recyclable!) tuck a small denomination gift certificate to starbuck's (or the coffee shop of your choice) in too. can be $5 (you know, enough for the empty cup that holds a small coffee at starbucks).
that's all i got.
like you expected something else from the hippie conservationist? be glad i didn't suggest she go with fair trade coffee and tea (you really should, you know....)

Thanks H...any ideas help. My students have sent in some stuff, but not too much. I want our basket to represent (ha), but I am not going broke over it. That's cute.

Oh, BBQ at Richard's Saturday, all are welcome!FSU vs UM Go noles (ahem) ;) hehe
What H said. Oh - honey for the tea. And some powdered Coffeemate - they have some A-mazing new Italian flavors that are to die for.
OK Hannah, you so stole my idea. I seriously would have described exactly as Hannah did. I do have another suggestion as to what to add in, there's this AWESOME Chai Tea and it comes in individual packets and the only place that sells it up here is WalMart and it's called Oregon Chai Tea. Open the box, take out the packets and spread them around the basket. When is this festival? I know someone who works at the 'Bucks who might be able to throw some things in for free. Let me see what I come up with. Can't make any promises but definitely can't hurt to ask.
PS- I would have come down had I known about this BBQ. For real! GO NOLES!!! Don't disappoint me, I picked you in my pool!
The festival is next Saturday, October 11th. After returnung back to work after being sick for 3 days , I see my kids brought in more stuff. It is just uch "crap" hehe Anyways, great ideas. Thanks
Hi! My Starbucks connection (my old roomie) said go to your local Starbucks and ask for the manager and tell him/her that you're doing a school silent auction, would they be willing to donate anything? She said most Starbucks are big "community involvement" places so they might chip in some things for you. Lisa, my ex-roomie has a couple pounds of coffee that she'll give me that I can send down if you want.
