NMT 50
Do all of your moms call right when you're about to eat? Vicki's mom is a champ at that.
Ok, so this week is the Democratic national convention with the Republican being next week. That's two weeks of a potentially higher national rate for colon cancer, what with all the smoke being blown up our asses. Just remember, both sides are going to tell you they're looking out for your best interests, but take it with a grain of salt. Bill O'Riley doesn't care about the folks, Keith Olbermann doesn't care about you. Don't believe me? Ask one of them if you can hold five dollars. I love KO's show, but I'm aware it's not 100% fair and balanced. It leans my way, so I like it. Just keep in mind:if it's talking to you on TV, it's probably full of shit.
Oh, and if it has breasts and drives a Mustang; it is high maintenance.
Our pick this week is related to the above. (the conventions, not the boobs and Mustang bit-though that is true. You can probably add red Neon's to that as well)
This is a new project from the front man of Rage Against the Machine. He's teamed up with the drummer from The Mars Volta (Mormon Girl is a big fan) and they put out an EP last month. I figured in honor of the political process reaching it's 18 month journey to "full swing", we'd take a listen. Keep in mind, most of it is bullshit, but try to accumulate as much information as you can.
From Los Angeles, CA:
One Day as a Lion - "Wild International":
Bonus Tracks:
A few years ago I said that now more than ever we needed Rage Against the Machine and they weren't there. Well, they came back and are playing protest concerts at both conventions. No side is innocent.
Rage Against the Machine - "Testify":
I Miss the 90's:
Oddly enough, noone I know owns or has hears this whole record, which is odd, because it followed up on e of the biggest albums of all time, but that may have been by design. Irrespective of that, everywhere I go, I find people who love this song. What's not to love: has personal lyrics, way fun to dance too and has hot girls in the video. It's Little Red Haired Girl's holy trinity.
George Michael - "Freedom 90":

I like a little Rage every now and then. George Michael, Freedom - now that's a song I haven't heard...since the 90's. Still makes ya wanna get up and dance though.
PS - Well thank goodness you've pinpointed the high maintenance girls. I don't drive a Mustang so I'm in the clear.
PS - LRHG - he's got you all wrong!
I don't know who you are, anonymous, but I like you already.
I will choose to overlook the blatent just plain wrongness of the Neon comment and will just focus on the I Love the 90s stuff. So, thanks for that! Of all the songs from those "Yay it's time to move to Austin" CDs you made me, that's the song that I played and played and played the most on the drives to and from Awe-stin.
no, my mom doesn't call me at all. well, she calls me bitchface, does that count?
LRHG - anonymous #1 is me = KG
