NMT 43
I'm not sure where I heard about our pick this week, probably on a website or something, but I checked it out and I like it.It has a very 80's, electro-dance feel to it (which will make Lynn happy), but doesn't sound dated.
Like I said, I don't know anything about it, but it is good. So, if you miss good old-fashioned 80's dance music, and I know we all do, this might be for you.
So, from Sydney, Australia:
The Presets - "This Boy's in Love":
Bonus Tracks:
I really don't know what this is, but KG said it's her new all-time favorite and anyone who disagrees with her with get one in the yarbles. She will take all challengers. (Seriously, I don't know where she found this, but she lives in the Big City with Big City Radio).
MGMT - "Time to Pretend":
I Miss the 90's:
I saw these guys at the Station in 1994. The Spinanes opened. It's weird, because this shouldn't work. He can't really sing, but there is something about it. When I put this record on the first time, it pulled me in straight away. I couldn't put my finger on exactly why, but I just wanted to hear it again, right away. It's still good and I still enjoy it. They are also the subject of my favorite T-shirt, which I am not allowed to wear anymore. Oh and the tour I saw them for was for Gentleman, the album before this one. That was a good show and I totally got stalked. This is from their album "Black Love". Much goodness.
The Afghan Whigs - "Honky's Ladder":

I wish I could take credit for finding MGMT but www.Dooce.com recommended it in her blog and I took a listen and was hooked. Something about it, I can't quite put my finger on it but when it's over, I want to hear it again.
Good tunes this week. Haven't heard the Afghan in a long, long time. You're right he can't sing but the song ain't that bad.
PS - If you need a good laugh or two, check out Dooce's website. Mormon Girl - sorry but your sweet virgin eyes need to stay away. She's an ex Mormon with a lot to say and a super bad potty mouth at times.
