Man was not meant to live in this much heat. Not this hot in Seattle.
(Gets kind of long, may not be suitable for work consumption. Unless you work at the League, in which case you can't watch the videos anyway cause your workplace sucks. HAHAHA!)
Our pick this week was a $5 buy on Amazon this weekend (too late now, but still only $8.99). These guys opened for Pearl Jam on the Vote for Change Tour and they were pretty good. I like his voice and he's written some lyrics that I've been able to apply to some situations and feelings I've had. Nothing major, just, you know, stuff.
And yes, I think all the good names were taken when they picked theirs.

OK, so Lynn a couple of days ago, made the erroneous decision to mock and question our King and his royal court. Bad move. Do not question our King. She made mention of the fact that the they had a suspect in the Anthrax attacks (you remember when all that white powder was getting mailed to people and the King and his trumpeters (Fox News) tried to imply it came from Iraq or some such place of Non-Christians when the FBI knew from the beginning it was weapons grade and it was a US strain.) and then suddenly he died. Read it here. Personally, I would never watch such Liberally biased, hate mongering program (I get the audio of the previous nights broadcast on a podcast and listen to it at work). How does this all fit in? Hark:
Someone made a comment to her post that now she was on a list (well, you're half-Asian and don't attend Church. I'm sure you were already on a list somewhere). So, now she keeps hearing "police" helicopters over her house. Those ain't police choppers honey.

I Miss the 90's:
It happens very rarely and even more rarely in our time, but sometimes and band puts together a record that is almost flawless. A record you come back to again and again even thought they may not have been your favorite band or you may not even know any of their other material, but you know this one record. Again, it doesn't happen often and it not everyone agrees and they have their own selection. The Cure's Disintegration was one for me. It is one of the greatest records ever made. People our age who are into this kind of music know it. Most people have been to a wedding where the cornball-ass DJ plays "Lovesong" (totally appropriate, but kind of obvious and something a monkey could pick). When my friends and I first heard it we knew it something great right away and we still list it as one of the greats. It's also good to um, you know, read the bible too (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) as odd as that sounds. Odd because most of the lyrics (all but one) are about pain and heartbreak and loss, but aurally (that might be the wrong word) it creates a vibe that is perfect. If you're paying attention to the lyrics while you've doing that then you and/ or your partner(s) are doing something horribly wrong.
Ok, so it's a great record and if you don't have it, then get it (you musical retard). If you have it, break it out again. Maybe the next time you um, read the bible or if you're married and don't want to wait that long, just for fun. I am also aware that this was released in 1989, but close enough. It's the London Calling rule. London Calling was the best Clash Album and hailed as one of the best albums of the 80's. Joe Strummer has a famous quote about that, "I thought it was released in 1979". Technically: yes, but in December and then only in England. It wasn't released in the States until January of 1980. (I didn't even have to look any of that up. That sucks.)

first off: disclaimer. there is foul language in this post. mormon girl, i'm sorry. richie-poo will delete it and/or chastise me for it if he feels it's not appropriate for your delicate eyes.
by far, this has been the shittiest 8 months of weather i've ever experienced in new england. let's start with winter, which lasted 9 years. then we get 90 degree days in may, which is 8 thousand kinds of wrong, a wet ass june, one week of blistering sun in july (which i'm grateful for because it was the week i was on vacation at the beach) and now nothing but rain. rain, rain, rain with a little bit o'slap and tickle (i.e. thunder and lightning) in between. rock on witchyobadself. you go, climate change. this kicks ass. no, no, i don't need to move to seattle to enjoy the splendor of rain every day of the week and four times on sunday. i'll stay right here, cozy and drenched in soggy concord, new hampshire thankyouverymuch. dammit.
i liked that tour; it was the one in which i had seats with a perfect view of eddie vedder's ass at the then fleet center (now td banknorth garden). death cab opened and the lead singer (don't know his name, he's not cute imo) was wowed by the fact that someone in the audience had a big cardboard thingie with 'I ♥ Cutie' on it. said it was the first time they got a sign of their own at a pearl jam show. went to the show with the brother in law.
soul coughing. christ, that's a band i haven't heard in a while. funny story about helicopters: becks was over the other night and a chopper flew by. she goes to me, 'they're looking for people growing pot.' um, no, babycakes. pot is small potatoes and this is new hampshire: if they're looking for people growing pot, it's only becaue they just lost their dealer and they're hoping for a score. they're looking for people lost on mountains because we live in the damn boonies.
ah, robert smith. how i loved you. disintegration: one of the very best albums ever and one of my favorites (as you well know). not sure i ever read the bible to it though but then again, religion was never my thing. (and, incidentally, where's the cure cds you were supposed to make for me? wtf are you doing with your time lately? christ.)
Interesting choices this week. I don't have much to say (I know, how rare) but I do have one question. You "read the bible" to that Cure song? Really?
I just got back from visiting my Grandma and I thought I was going to lose my hand when I changed the channel to something other than the Rightous Brothers on PBS (and I think this tape was from like 1985). Yikes!
Ah yes, it all makes sense now.... The "police" choppers. Good thinkin. I probably shouldn't try to board any flights any time soon. TSA will be all over my arse. If I'm on TSA's list, Olbermann's name must be the first name on it at this point. TRUST NO ONE
OK, now the Feds are saying the anthrax suspect was "solely responsible" for the attacks... Nope, nothing to see here folks! << washes blood off hands >>
