NMT 119

It's Christmas. Quit stressing over have much you have for people and enjoy it. It's a chance to reset and blow off work for the rest of the year. The older you get, the quicker they go by. You never know how many of these you get, so don't waste one.

Our pick this week is a favorite of ours. We love them and if we don't, we should be ashamed of ourselves...more so than usual. They are just a good-time, fun rocking band with smart, but not overly dramatic lyrics (sort of a next generation Replacements) and I think we need more of that, these days to balance us out. Sometimes, it's just good to sit back and let it out. And yes, most of the songs are about drugs, but aren't they all. Fun times.

This one has a funny title. Sometimes, I enjoy funny titles.

So, once again, from Brooklyn (where all of Top 40's strikes come from), NY:

The Hold Steady - "Your little Hood-rat friend":

Man, Mormon house parties sure do get out of hand...

The pick this week was going to be the friggin cover of R.E.M.'s "Great Beyond" that I kept hearing in the grocery store, but then I found out it was The Fray and well, those guys are super pussies (they make Matchbox 20 look like they have hair on their balls), so I bagged that idea. However, looking that up, I found this. Fun times come from disappointing research.
