NMT 113

Our pick this week is one of the greatest cover songs of all time. It is only related to the original in that it has the same lyrics and melody, but great cover songs are usually when a band takes a song and makes it their own-and that they did. It was always held in high regard if you could break out the drum beat during band practice. (good luck getting it out of your head)

This band has more great moments than the one song you all know, but it's ok. They were one of the first bands to use music videos to their advantage and be creative and not just have the band miming their song on-stage.

The band is From Akron, OH, which is 20 min or so north of Canton, OH, so you bitches needs to recognize. Also, the lead singer, Mark Mothersbaugh, does a lot of televiision score work. He does the music for Yo Gabba Gabba and most of those Noggin shows you Moms let your kids watch (or will. Yeah, everybody says they're not going to let TV babysit their kids, then you get one. You also said you were going to save your frisbee for that special someone. Nick-on-demand was invented by a mommy.).

So, from Akron, OH:

Random Pick of the Week (O, it's back, bitches):

Apparently, this is the greatest piece of Eye-doing it ever put on film. Or at least that's what our resident perverts in Atlanta and Austin said.

if you watch that last one with no sound (or if you're forced to because your speakers have apparently decided to shit the bed), they both look like they're drunk. or blind.

OK...

1) Is it bad that I've never heard of this band before? I mean, I know I live under a rock and all but seriously, never ever heard of the name

2) Ah, The Pretenders - love 'em more than my luggage

3) What is so wrong with Atlanta and Austin? I think you're jealous. I've never seen this before and while I think the song is OK, these two are so cheesy to me. I even went to their concert here a year or two ago and laughed my arss off when Tim and Faith both came out with guitars hanging from their shoulders. Seriously, who do they think they're kidding? They don't even know a guitar has strings!
