NMT 98

Raise your hand if you and your husband have a nice, new bathroom to stink up.

Our pick this week is apparently the house band somewhere in Atlanta. Our they just play there alot. I've always liked this band, but for some reason I only have a couple of their records. They had a big hit on their first record, but for some reason they never maintained their level of popularity and it seems they've always put out high quality material. Just one of those weird things that proves most people wouldn't know quality if it sat on their lap and told them what they wanted for Christmas. (oh and they're KG's current obsession).

So, from Baton Rouge, LA:

Better Than Ezra - "Absolutely Still":

Bonus Tracks:

Here's another Atlanta regular. I got to meet this guy and his band when they were on tour for their first record. The label set up a dinner for some of us before the show and they were really cool guys. KG's also seen him perform 1400 times.

I Miss the 90's:

One day, this will happen to one of you. Unless you're kitchen just has cold, hard Mexican ceramic tile. These guys played the same show I saw Tonic at.

K's Choice - "Breakfast":

Wow, how special....a NMT all for me. Thank you!

1) Just b/c they played here twice this year doesn't make them the house band, though I wish. I could see these guys play everyday. Not only are they cuties, their music is just great and when you see them live, they are just so freakin' fun. You really missed a good show up in Athens.
2) I LOVE Tonic and about 6 years ago, my friend and I caught wind that Emerson was doing live, solo, acoustic sets at a bar in Midtown every Thursday for 4 weeks. Guess who was there every Thursday? It was so fun and it was like sitting at the kitchen table watching him work through some lyrics and songs and get the crowds' opinions. Awesome.

I've tried to see him again but last time I bought tickets, he canceled his show. I miss him.

3) OK this just made me laugh and then think - ew - hope i never see that.

Thanks for the good tunes this week. Now you can relax. :-)
