I think girls like it when, after showing her that her new DirectTV does in fact pick up sports, you spend a holiday Monday relaxing and watching the silly Wedding shows on WE. They had some sort of marathon of these ridiculous brides and their million dollar weddings. More on that later. It was fun.
I love DVR's. I want one. I used Vicki's to record the Indy 500 Sunday while we went tubing down the Chipola (again, whole other story for another day) and when we (finally) got home, I totally watched it in 20 min.
Ok, our pick this week is another band I only liked about 3 songs from before and tried this record and love it all the way through. I only checked it out because again it was a band I sort of liked, but also because Stipe did a duet on one of the songs. I think I ended up using one of the iTunes gift cards I got from Allison (you guys should also check out the Amazon.com download service, if you pay for your music. Sometimes it's a little cheaper, but it also is DRM free, which means you can play it on any device and not just with Itunes and iPod. Just a thought).
I loved this record from the first time I listened to it. I highly recommend it and I'm sure I've given this song to a few of you recently. I think it reflects at least one (if not more) of the relationships we've all had ( and I might actually be that one). I think it's mostly open to interpretation. The video can get weird and it explores more of the, um, chemical side of things, but either way.
It's a great song and as I said, the album is amazing too. They do a beautiful cover of Kate Bush's "Running up that Hill" that isn't all that much different than the original, but it some ways surpasses it.
They're English, so you'll have to forgive the man-panties.
From London, England:
Placebo - "Meds":
Bonus Tracks:
Oh, hell with it. I'll just show you. Here's the Kate Bush Original if you want to compare.
Placebo - "Running up that Hill":
I Miss the 90's:
It wasn't always LoudQuietloud and screaming about drugs. Sometimes, it was loud with a groove and screaming about creepy parents. Love this song. I really do miss the 90's.
Jawbox - "Savory":

Oh, oh - Placebo is good. Running Up That Hill is a great song, the meds song ain't so bad either. I kinda felt like I was on meds all weekend even though I hadn't touched one pill, just cried my ever lovin' eyes out, couldn't sleep and my head hurt and everything was all blurry I was seeing things. yea that sucks...
I so needed some meds!
