New Music Tuesday #5

Just a quick note before we start. To the New Girl in the office: If you're going to wear glasses, you cannot wear your hair up. It's too much. Thank you.

Biggest New Music Tuesday ever! Well, because the R.E.M. Live album comes out today.

Ok, this week's choice was brought to us by Amanda. I'm sure our Top 40 Queens (Atlanta & Austin) already knew and have grown sick of this song, but I hadn't known of it until Amanda asked for it.

The band is from Villa Park, IL, Chicago basically, which was the home of the Ovaltine chocolate factory. That's all I know.

So, remember to drink your Ovaltine and enjoy:

Plain White T's - "Hey Delilah"

Bonus Tracks:

Continuing with our Richard is going to Boston to see this band program:

In the middle of this song he starts to sing parts of other songs he hasn't written yet. He does this a lot. He writes passages of songs and then works them in the show. If you listen closely at the end, some of you may hear a passage that might sound familiar.

Tragically Hip - "New Orleans is Sinking(W/Westwind/Cookie Factory, Ahead by a Century & Springtime in Vienna) "

This weeks random pick:

Yes, Plain White T's - been severely overplayed up here. I really, really like them and that song but once again Atlanta radio finds 1 song that everyone raves about it and next thing you know it's played once every 30 mins. and then everyone hates the band. Not the band's fault though, it's the stupid radio dj's.

Tragically Hip - I'm sorry. I try to be extremely open when it comes to any kind of music but this guy is on crack and drives me crazy. I don't think I could get thru a show without that guy driving me insane. Do you smoke the whacky tobaccy to get into this?

Random bit: Not bad, guy's got a decent voice but it does sound like he's off key a tad every now and then but not terrible.

Sorry, I feel like I just bitched and moaned in this review. I really am in a good mood. :-)
