The coming of an age

On my way home from Borders tonight I saw a couple out walking their dog. There wasn't anything really sepecial about them, Late 30's, moderate dress. The thing I did notice that as they were walking, they were both on their cell phones. Is it possiable that in this disconnected, disengaged, disingenuous age we are living in, that they were talking to each other on their cell phones. That, the only way they can communicate with other human beings is through a phone stuck to your head, while you're doing three other tasks. It truly is a wonderful time we live in.
