NMT 65

Working out is evil.
Working out after a six month layoff due to surgery is really evil.

Our pick this week is something a bit new. Well, probably not for KG since she listens to the radio more then those of us with real jobs ( I mean, it's not like you're doing anything, you think you can keep the office straight? Honestly). I keep hearing about his band and I do believe their album is part of Amazon.com's top albums for $5 sale (dangerous), so I figured we'd check them out. Plus Mormon Girl has been pestering me for something she can dance naked in her living room too. I think this accomplishes that. I'm a very accommodating person.

So, let's all, um, get comfortable, shall we say, even if you're at work, just shut the door and do it. Let loose, maybe even let Footloose.

From New York, NY:

Vampire Weekend - "A-Punk":

Bonus Tracks:

Oh, that's right. Guess what got released today! You thought rock and roll was dead, but you are wrong! Behold in the time of Jesus' birthday, for 'tis reborn! (and if you live outside of Atlanta, you probably haven't heard this yet.)

I Miss the 90's:

I don't know if I've mentioned this before and I don't care if I am repeating myself, but I had this uber crush on cute little alterna-girls. Oh, yea. The whole short, bobbed hair, skirts, tights, the Mary Jane's, journal keeping, all that. And the singer of this band was high up on that list. I can't even explain it (and you wouldn't care if I could), but so it was. Oh, and if she came in wearing glasses, all over. I've grown out of that (mostly). I loved this band (they broke up a couple of years ago) and they were one of the most over-looked bands of our generation. They opened for Pearl Jam and Corin Tucker (google he and check out the pictures) sang back up on the Eddie Vedder track from the Into the Wild soundtrack that was the pick way back on NMT 2 I believe. Enjoy it. (She's the one in the blur shirt, black skirt and tights)

Sleater-Kinney - "You're No Rock N' Roll Fun (the ballad of Mormon Girl)":

ha. it's rare that i've heard a band before it appears on nmt, but this time i have! (lex introduced me to them a while ago.) they're decent. not that i can view/hear whatever this is due to the evil firewall, but still.

i knew of your obsession only cos you were trying to get into the pants of my alterna-girl best friend while you were in my pants, but that's neither here nor there and i'm okay with it now. (sort of.)

good week, thanks for sharing.

AWESOME NMT week! You too can listen to the radio as much as I do. I have a radio on my desk at work, I can't stand to hear silence or whit noise, hence the radio. PS - I do work but just havent had much to do since I've gotten here, not my fault.

Anywho, Vampire Weekend - great song. Catchy, fun tune. Makes ya want to get up and cut a rug (not that I can dance).

OMGS, did you put Collective Soul on your website? I can't believe it! In all seriousnes, do you think this song sucks that bad? I love these guys, like I still love Matchbox 20 &/or Rob Thomas.

Never herd of Sleater Kinney but great song!
