Good Call

Nice job to Allison. On her recommendation I saw the film The Lives of Others; Brilliant. If you haven't already, you must see this movie(Mormon Girl, you're excused-it's rated R and her boyfriend doesn't like those kind of movies). It's German, so you have to read the screen, but that's ok, it's totally worth it (KG, just suck it up and sit through an art house movie. Be a Vincent for once instead of a Gene). Nothing blows up, but there is some booby, so it's got that going for it. Seriously, it's a great story so well written and a very beautiful story in a not so beautiful setting. It takes place in 1984 East Germany (yeah, there used to be two) in the midst of communist rule.

I saw some sort of phantom listing of another movie with this title for 2010, which probably means since it won an Oscar for best foreign language film, they're going to do an American version. So, see it before they make it suck.

Thanks again, Allison.

PS - When I lived in Mexico City for the summer back in '95 I watched a great moive about Alcatraz. It was in Spanish so I had to read the subtitles. Wish I could remember the name of it, but it was still good. I do remember that. So, there!
